TORONTO, October 3, 2013 – The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) is proud to honour six outstanding Canadian Muslim women who have made a positive contribution to the lives of women and girls and their communities. CCMW will also award scholarships to deserving women who are pursuing post-secondary education.

On International Women’s Day we would like to pay tribute to women worldwide who contribute to the well-being of their families, communities and countries. 2012 also marks CCMW’s 30th year of working for the equality, equity and empowerment of Canadian Muslim women. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation and applaud the hard work of all our members, past and present.
