Yasmin has dedicated her life to serving her community and fostering new leaders. This resulted in her co-founding serval nonprofits including Face to Face, IFT youth, Sabaya, and much more. Ultimately, Yasmin's goal is to provide young people with spaces to enhance their own leadership skills and inspire them to become changemakers in their own communities. This lead to the founding of IFT youth which aims to engage and support Muslim youth through training, workshops, events, conferences, and leadership opportunities.
Yasmin also delved into the world of policy through Face to Face which aimed to tackle the negative effects of social media and technology on our communities' mental health. Yasmin has acquired government funding for this project, won multiple awards, and then trained a new generation of leaders to tackle this challenge.
Yasmin has individually planned and supported 40 campaigns, and events for politicians, fundraising projects, and community development with thousands of attendees for diverse audiences. She has worked for and with groups like Red Cross Canada, TedX Toronto, IDRF, Lifeline Syria, and Plan international.
She currently is a fundraiser and events planner at Islamic Relief, the world's leading Muslim Charity. CCMW Durham is very honoured that Yasmin spoke to our group about her role at Islamic relief and how we can get involved.
