Our 2022 Women Who Inspire Awards and Scholarship presentations took place online on November 13, 1:00 to 3:00 pm EST. The theme this year was "The Charter & CCMW at 40."

Standing Up to Online Hate Webinar
This OCASI Ontario webinar featured Maryam Faisal (Council of Agencies Serving South Asians) and Firdaus Ali (Canadian Council of Muslim Women). The two panelists presented their online initiatives that support im/migrants and refugees in making digital spaces safer places for citizens to engage.

Seminar: Examining the Uses of Therapeutic Apologies for Addressing the Emotional Injuries of Young Muslim Women

D.A.R.E.2 #Hate2Healing Virtual Launch
CCMW hosted the launch event for the Hate2Healing anti-hate social media campaign on September 25, 2021. The launch showcased a selection of D.A.R.E.2 Project videos and featured a panel discussion on Diverse Identities in the Canadian Muslim context. The event also featured artistic expressions, and presentations by an exciting line-up of guests, including D.A.R.E.2 Project Instructor Amira Elghawaby and Elder Irene Compton. Event details here.

On June 17, Dr. Sheema Khan delivered a presentation on Gender Analysis of Boards of Canadian Muslim Charitable Institutions based on two years of research.
The presentation was followed by a discussion on possible steps to take to address the situation.
