Membership
Membership Policy
Preamble: This policy defines and clarifies the role and importance of membership to CCMW. The membership policy is an integral part of CCMW’s commitment to public access and accountability. Members of CCMW will belong to one of CCMW’s Regional Chapters, as determined by the Board from time to time.
1. Eligibility for Membership
Criteria for individual and student membership: Anyone who identifies as a Muslim woman and is interested in participating in specific events, and programs, or accessing certain resources offered by CCMW can be a member.
CCMW membership will be semi-open, paid membership.
Membership categories: Individual, Student, and Organizational
The Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager will manage membership applications, membership fees, etc. through a centralized CRM database.
The fee for Individual Members is $50 annually.
The fee for Student Members is $25 annually.
The fee for Organizational Members is $100 annually.
The Board, at its discretion, may permit any Member to pay a discounted fee if such Member provides sufficient evidence that it is unable to pay the full membership fee.
Every Member shall be required to:
fill out the membership application form completely and accurately;
provide all requested information, such as personal details (name, current address, contact information), demographic information, and any additional details required by CCMW; and commit to adherence to all CCMW policies, as applicable.
2. Eligibility to become a Supporter
Anyone who does not self-identify as a Muslim woman can be a Supporter of CCMW and shall be permitted to participate in specific events or programs, as determined by the Board, or may access certain resources offered by CCMW.
Supporters are not Members of CCMW and therefore do not have voting rights nor will they be provided with a membership card.
The fee for Supporters is $25 annually.
Every Supporter shall be required to:
fill out the supporter application form completely and accurately and indicate that the applicant is a supporter;
provide all requested information, such as personal details (name, current address, contact information), demographic information, and any additional details are optional by CCMW; and commit to adherence to all CCMW policies, as applicable.
3. Membership and Supporter Application Process
The Membership and Supporter Application forms will be available on the CCMW website.
The Membership and Supporter Application forms will include a check box, stating that the member or supporter, as applicable, has read, understood and agrees to CCMW’s Policies.
The Membership and Supporter Application forms will include a method of payment for annual membership/supporter fee.
The Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager will review the submitted application forms to ensure they are complete and meet the eligibility criteria.
The Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager may conduct a verification process to confirm the authenticity of the provided information.
Approved members and supporters will receive confirmation of their status along with any additional information, such as membership or supporter benefits or access to resources.
Membership and supporter terms will be from November 1 to October 31 of each year.
Notification of renewal will be sent to members and supporters on August 1 of each year.
4. Benefits of Membership
Members will receive the following:
Welcome package and orientation materials introducing them to CCMW's activities, events, and resources available to members.
Access to select CCMW events, workshops, and programs.
Newsletters or specific communications related to the events or programs in which they are participating.
Entitlement to privileges and benefits determined by the Board of Directors.
Members, but not Supporters, have the right to run and vote for Board and Regional Chapter Executive positions.
5. Benefits of Supporters
Supporters will receive the following:
Access to select CCMW events, workshops, and programs.
Newsletters or specific communications related to the events or programs in which they are participating.
Entitlement to privileges and benefits determined by the Board of Directors.
6. Member Etiquette
All Members are expected to treat CCMW staff, volunteers, Members and Supporters with respect and dignity.
