About Mehjabeen Elahi:
Mehjabeen Elahi, is a young communications and government relations professional with a demonstrated history of working in Canadian politics/government and the NGO sector. She currently works for the Ontario Public Sector. Prior to this role, she interned as a Legislative Assistant at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario (Queen’s Park).
After graduating from McMaster University with a Combined Honours in Communication Studies and Cognitive Science of Linguistics, she pursued a Post-Graduate Certificate in Government Relations. Inspired to help make a change in her community, she formed Political Access, a non-partisan Canadian youth organization working to make political information accessible to all, particularly for immigrant and marginalized communities.
She also sits as a member of the Canadian Council of Young Feminists and is a member of the Ontario Provincial Youth Cabinet, with a lead role in the Education and Employment Advisory Group. She is also the Advocacy Director and Digital Designer for Connections of Youth and the Vice-President of External Affairs for The Canadian Advisory of Women Immigrants (CAWI).
