Tree planting in Whitby

Our members and their families participated in the Tree Planting Event at D'Hillier Park, Whitby, ON organized by Leaf https://www.yourleaf.org/ and the town of Whitby. LEAF is a non-profit organization that teaches people about trees and gets them excited about the urban forest. They provided shovels, trees, and other supplies. As a group, we planted over 450 shrubs and trees. Thank you to our members for participating in this wonderful event and we look forward to participating in the future.

According to Hadrat Anas b.Malik (Radiyallahu anhu), The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: ‘It is charitable donation when Muslim plants a tree or grows crops and the birds, humans or cattle eat from it.’
