Ramadan Storytime Event at Whitby Library
CCMW Durham was invited to partner with Whitby Library to host a storytime event for Ramadan. We already hosted similar storytime events in Clarington and Pickering but we had the biggest crowd in Whitby with 140 attendees.
The library provided colouring sheets and prepared the Eid cards for the children to make for their families. Thank you to Rachel for reaching out to us and to Nadya for her time and efforts in running the event.
VP Maryum did a wonderful job reading books about Ramadan and answered questions and organizing the volunteers. Thank you to our volunteers Saad, Aliyah, Zainab, Salaam, Uzma, Sheeba, Shasmeen, Shaheen, Sumaiyah, Ayana, Ruby, and Tarannum.
Thank you to MP Ryan Turnball who spoke at the event and has given our chapter support over the years. Mayor Elizabeth Roy also spoke about celebrating culture and diversity and we appreciate her taking time out of her busy schedule to attend our event.
