Asma Noomani: 2022

My name is Asma Noomani and I am a mother of 3 girls for whom I work hard to pass on our Muslim values. I am also a postgraduate student in Elementary Education at Campus Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta. Being a teacher has been my dream since I was a little girl, but unfortunately I was not able to accomplish it in my home country. I came to Canada in September 2018 with the hope of becoming a teacher, but sadly Quebec's Bill 21 prohibited me from achieving my dream.

So, we moved a year ago to Edmonton, in Alberta so I could finally fulfill this big dream. Thanks to the support of my husband, I was able to not only restart my studies at the age of 40, but also to be among the best in terms of academic results. I am proud today to set a good example for my daughters so that they will never doubt that it is never too late to achieve their dreams and that Muslim women are capable of great success. Bachelor of Elementary Education.
