Heraa Muqri: 2022

Heraa Muqri is an award-winning public speaker, mental health advocate, and proactive leader with an interest in design, innovation, and STEM. Her interest began when she coded an app to educate Canadians on blood donation. Inspired by the app, Heraa co-founded a youth organization called Project Life Bank that teaches youth to become successful donors. As a co-founder, Heraa created educational videos, led a fundraiser, and hosted workshops to raise awareness of blood donation disparities. To connect youth with mental health professionals,

Heraa has co-hosted the Speakout podcast on Spotify. As an avid volunteer, Heraa also enjoys teaching children to code to share her passion for STEM. After graduating from Craig Kielburger Secondary School this year, Heraa is currently attending the University of Toronto’s Engineering Science program to pursue her passion for STEM, innovation, and contribute to the betterment of society. With her education and experience, Heraa ultimately hopes to increase Muslim women's representation in STEM and inspire Muslims to achieve excellence.
