The implementation of actions to fight racial and social profiling in Montreal was delayed by the pandemic, says the City.

The recent attack on a Muslim community center as well as the numerous anti-Asian racist incidents reaffirm the urgency of adopting strong measures to ensure the protection of members of Montreal communities vulnerable to hate crimes.

The Quebec Public Affairs Director of the National Council of Canadian Muslims, Yusuf Faquiri, and the President of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (Montreal Chapter), Farida Mohamed, believe that the Montreal Police Hate Crimes Unit should be more efficient. Read more here. and here.
