Remembrance and Prayer
January 29, 2021 – Four years ago today, a terrorist murdered six men and seriously injured 19 others at the Quebec City Mosque expressly because they were Muslim. Let us remember and pray for Ibrahima Barry, Mamadou Tanou Barry, Khaled Belkacemi, Abdelkrim Hassane, Azzeddine Soufiane, and Aboubaker Thabti.
The Government of Canada has announced its intention to make January 29th a National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia, to honour the victims and express solidarity with the survivors of this tragedy. CCMW welcomes this announcement and looks forward to it becoming reality.
