Young Canadians Push Back Against Digital Hate

#DeleteDigitalHate Project

Session #2 - Featuring YWCA Canada Lead Researcher Jolin Joseph & Noor Fadel

Moderator - Fatima Syed

Title: Young Canadians Push Back Against Digital Hate

Join YWCA Canada’s Jolin Joseph, in conversation with Noor Fadel, to learn about ways youth can take action against online hate speech. As part of YWCA Canada’s National Research Report, #BlockHate: Centering Survivors and Taking Action on Gendered Online Hate in Canada, youth across Canada shared their experiences navigating online hate. While young women and gender diverse youth as well as Black, Indigenous and youth of colour, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, religious minorities, and youth with disabilities are disproportionately impacted by online hate, they are also powerful leaders in responding to, countering and building community resilience to make online spaces safer for everyone.
